Kirsi is a global mobility expert specializing in talent attraction, retention and internationalisation. She currently works at the University of Helsinki, assisting academics, faculties and departments with mobility and international HR issues. She creates new networks, events and training sessions and supports clients using one-on-one sessions, workshops, seminars and keynote speeches. Her day-to-day responsibilities include team and project management while supporting clients with issues such as recruitment, relocation and integration.
Kirsi provides guidance for those arriving in Finland or working abroad. She collaborates with many organisations and is an energizer for the talent attraction industry. She is active in several networks, including EURAXESS and Talent Boost, and she represents the Finnish Academic Mobility Support Network in the International Forum for Higher Education and Research. Following her first international experience (working in Newcastle upon Tyne, Kirsi was attracted to a career in international affairs. After studying for her degree in marketing, she went on to an MA in English Philology, where she began her formal training in cross-cultural communications. She has worked in sectors ranging from translation and English teaching to PR, even serving as the liaison to the British delegation during the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. In addition to Finnish she speaks English, French, Spanish, Swedish and a little German and Russian.
Kirsi is interested in opportunities for personal, organisational and community development with an international aspect. Social, open-minded and enthusiastic, she is inquisitive about people, culture and networking in an international community and is excited about new ideas and projects. Planning and making things happen come naturally and she enjoys a spectrum of tasks working in a team in a diverse environment, utilising and developing her knowledge and skills for a greater good.
