Vilhelmine has extensive international working experience as a trainer, consultant and lecturer in the areas of cross-cultural communication and Business English. Her areas of focus include cross-cultural management and cross-cultural competence development for international assignees. She is a country expert on the Baltic states- Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and the UK. She became a certified licensed partner of RLC in 2008 and is also trained in the use of the Cross-Cultural Dialogue Mat.
In addition to 20 years of experience in Adult Education, Vilhelmine's experience includes working in international projects as a coordinator and material developer. She has led workshops and delivered lectures whilst participating in international projects and programmes in Latvia, Denmark, Spain, Cyprus, France, Germany, Portugal and Estonia. She developed the study material on Business Culture in Latvia for the Intercultural Communication online course, an EU funded project with 30 participating countries. She also developed material within the EU funded Grundtvig project on Intercultural Communication Training: Interactive Intercultural Communication Tools for Entrepreneurs.
Vilhelmine is of Latvian origin and has been living in the UK since 2008. She is fluent in four languages; English, Latvian, Russian and Polish. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the BA School of Business and Finance in Riga. She lectures on Intercultural Communication in International MBA and Bachelor’s Business Administration programmes. She has managerial experience as an acting director and deputy director in the language training business sector. Vilhelmine holds an Education Science Master’s degree in Pedagogy and a Master’s degree in English Philology from the University of Latvia. She is also a member of SIETAR UK.
