Dr. Larkey is an innovative, strategic thinker with ample experience in international milieus and in operational areas including energizing of cultural change, cross-cultural performance, merger and acquisition analysis, top level succession planning and institution-specific leadership development programs.
Frank has a life-long interest in moral development, and then, during his PhD programe at the University of Houston, U.S.A., course work piqued his interest in western biases in psychological theory and research. At Birkman International, when charged with adapting personality assessments, he discovered first-hand the difficulty of translating American attitudes, social perceptions and personality into foreign languages.
Frank co-created the Schweiger Larkey Organization Culture Instrument (SLOCI), yet, he reports that his real awakening came when he left the research lab and began implementing cross-cultural/social-comprehension/personality tools in the field. It was one thing to describe a problem and quite another to design an intervention that worked.
Frank’s cross-cultural education continues at home with his Thai wife of four years. So, he is truly aware of the profound differences between culture that can either enable or block success in life, at work and in organizations.
