Jane McLucas provides communications training for a diverse client portfolio. Her typical clients are managers at either SMEs or multi-nationals seeking to build their skill base to ensure maximum performance in sectors ranging from food, IT, law, finance, industry and logistics.
Our shrinking globe means that, in addition to language, the required skill set has now expanded to include cross-cultural awareness. Jane’s full or half-day workshops transmit cultural data and know-how in an interactive format. Her areas of cultural expertise include France, Japan, England, Germany, the USA and Spain. McLucas has lectured in English and cultural awareness at the IAE Grenoble School of Management, the IEP, and the Grenoble Institute of Technology.
Jane was born in Ireland and she grew up partly in Germany and in England. Following her university studies, she settled in France. That was when a long-standing interest in cultural differences was activated as this new arrival struggled to adapt to her fourth culture. By experience she has learned that speaking a language is not enough to get by in business. Cultural adroitness is necessary as well. In fact, Jane’s team have found that teaching cultural awareness is a natural follow on from teaching languages and that her clients enthusiastically seek the cultural dexterity that she helps them cultivate.
